The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services issued an alert on Thursday to Westchester residents regarding the residency of 46-year-old Maurice Yarborough, who has reported a move from White Plains to Walnut Street in Yonkers.
The Division of Criminal Justice Services has assigned Yarborough as a Level 3 threat, which means he is a “high-risk repeat offender and possible threat to public safety.”
According to the Division of Criminal Justice Services, Yarborough used coercion and threats to immediately and physically overpower his 15-year-old victim in 2002, having sexual and deviate intercourse with her. He was convicted of rape the following year after being arrested by the Yonkers City Police Department SOR Unit and sentenced to a term between three and six years in state prison. He is now under the jurisdiction of the Mount Vernon City Police Department.
Yarborough was also arrested on a federal gun charge in Tuckahoe in 2013 following a traffic stop.
